Here is our 2007-2021 Toyota Tundra Kickout Rock Slider DIY Kit, made to fit Gen 2 (2007-2013) and Gen 2.5 (2014-2021) Tundras. These aren't your average round tube sliders. The main rails are made from 2x2" heavy wall square tubing and finished with CNC-formed 1/4" steel mounting brackets and legs that ensure these sliders will stand up to the harshest abuse you can throw at them. We bend the frame mounting brackets in-house, with each bracket custom tailored to the 2nd Gen Tundra frame profile at each mounting point. This allows us to mount these sliders to the truck using all factory holes in the Tundra's frame. No frame drilling, welding or modification required. Our C-shaped frame mounting brackets wrap around the outer, bottom and inner faces of the frame, and then we run bolts through the outer and inner walls of the frame and into nuts that get secured on the backside. This means that in order for these rock slider mounts to fail, you would have to simultaneously snap the heads off the bolts and deform the 1/4" thick steel brackets enough to lift away from your frame! You can rest assured that these sliders will hold up to whatever trail hits you can throw at them.
Besides the aforementioned features, what really makes these rock sliders unique is the rear mounting point, which wraps around the factory leaf spring mount and also provides you with a frame-mounted tie down point for a camper. This rather complicated looking bracket is designed and manufactured in-house to attach to the factory leaf spring bolt and surrounding frame holes to give theses sliders a frame mounting point located right in front of the rear tires. This is in contrast to our competitors' rock sliders, which place all of their frame mounting points under the cab, leaving a huge unsupported length of rock slider under the bed. This unsupported length can flex into your bed under hard hits, damaging your vehicle and negating the reason you installed rock sliders in the first place! The second benefit of our leaf spring mount is the ability to tie down a slide-in camper. Slide-in campers are great for going offroad, but they often require you to run vulnerable tie down bars which hang below your vehicle and can easily get bent or damaged while offroad. With our rock sliders, we've placed a camper tie down point inside the kickout, giving you all the vehicle protection of a dedicated rock slider while also keeping your tie down point out of harms way. This also saves you the cost and hassle of purchasing stand alone camper tie down bars to fit your Tundra.
This mounting design also ensures that those big trail impacts will get spread out over a large area of your truck's frame. Some sliders use skimpy round tubing mounting legs that mount directly to the side of the thin factory frame rails. These can dent the frame rails over time and even punch right through the vehicle's frame under hard hits. With this kit, the provided frame plates spread impact loads evenly over your frame rails. The CNC-formed mounting legs bridge the gap between the mounting legs and mounting plates (the highest stress areas in the entire slider) and create super stiff sliders that will not bend or flex excessively under the most extreme conditions. As a finishing touch, the rear ends of the square main rails are tapered with a very long angled cut to maximize protection and ground clearance where the Tundra bedside dips down lower than the rest of the rock panel.
These sliders come in pieces that are pre-bent and pre-cut. Simply line them up as per the provided assembly directions and diagrams, weld them together, and install them on your truck. To make it even easier, the kits ship with clear and detailed step by step directions that are accompanied by CAD diagrams. The 8 (4 per side) mounting legs in this kit ship pre-cut with the perfect angles and lengths so the sliders can be positioned at the perfect angle and distance from the vehicle without any guess work or frustrating angle cuts. The pictured sliders are set at a 10 degree angle to provide great ground clearance and a convenient step to reach your roof rack or truck bed. You can also adjust the angle up or down while assembling the sliders if you wish to have a flatter or more extreme slider angle.
Important Note: You may have noticed that this rock slider kit is a little bit pricier than our rock sliders for other makes and models. This is due to our proprietary leaf spring mounting bracket and camper tie down point, which add several complex parts to each kit. However, we feel that the unmatched strength and functionality that these features provide are well worth that bit of extra complexity and cost.
• DIY Weld-together rock slider kit that arrives in CNC-laser cut and bent pieces that you then weld together - everything you need for assembly and installation included
•NO Drilling, cutting or welding of the actual vehicle required - these sliders can be removed from your Toyota Tundra without a trace that they were ever installed.
• Detailed instructions and diagrams - the step by step directions and professionally made diagrams make these a perfect first welding project
•Multiple body style options provide customized wheel well to wheel well protection for each model while still allowing clearance for oversized tires. (We do not support the 4 door 8 foot bed model at this time, sorry!)
•Integrated camper tie down point is located inside the kickout, allowing you to attach your slide-in camper tie downs directly to our rock sliders.
•Unique Leaf Spring Mounting Point completely eliminates the rear overhang, giving unmatched impact strength and support for the integrated camper tie down point.
• CNC-cut step plates look great, protect your rocker panels from rock debris spray and provide a convenient step to access the cabin or a roof rack
• 2 x 2" - 0.1875" wall square tubing inner rails provide excellent foundational support compared to lesser round tube sliders
•C-shaped 1/4" thick frame mounting brackets and legs are CNC-bent in house. These maximize ground clearance below the pinch weld and distribute forces evenly into your vehicle frame to prevent damage
•Hilift jack can be used anywhere along the slider length to lift the vehicle
•Tapered inner rails to glance off obstacles and maximize ground clearance and protection under the Tundra's bed.
• Sold as a left and right pair
