90 Series Land Cruiser Rock Slider Weld-Together Kit (Bolt on)

$606.90

This is a DIY weld-together rock slider kit for the 90 Series Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. While the sliders themselves are a weld-together kit, absolutely no welding, drilling or cutting of the actual vehicle is required! We specifically designed these sliders to be a modification-free installation so they can be removed from the vehicle without leaving a trace that they were ever there. However, don't think for a second that this means the sliders aren't built for heavy offroad hits. These sliders mount directly to your 90 Series Cruiser's frame using large 3/8" (10mm) thick steel mounting plates as well as square tubing inner rails and the largest reinforcing gussets that we could fit under there.

Description

These aren’t your average tube sliders. The square inner tubes, laser CNC-cut step plates and tapered ends really set these sliders apart. The inner rails and mounting legs are made from thick wall 1.5″ (40mm) and 2″ (50mm) square tubing and finished with massive 3/8″ thick CNC-cut frame mounting plates and gussets that ensure these sliders will stand up to the harshest abuse you can throw at them. We fabricate the frame mounting brackets in-house, with each bracket custom tailored to the 90 Series Cruiser’s frame profile at each mounting point. This allows us to mount these sliders to the truck using all factory holes in the 90 Series’ frame. No frame drilling, welding or modification required. With this kit, the provided frame plates spread impact loads evenly over your frame rails by sandwiching the frame rails between front and back 3/8″ (10mm) thick pads with 1/2″ (M12) Bolts. This means that in order for these rock sliders to fail, you would have to simultaneously snap the heads off the 1/2″ (M12) diameter bolts and deform the 3/8″ (10mm) thick steel brackets enough to lift away from your frame! You can rest assured that these sliders will hold up to whatever trail hits you can throw at them.

This mounting design also ensures that those big trail impacts will get spread out over a large area of your truck’s frame. Some sliders use skimpy round tubing mounting legs that mount directly to the side of the thin factory frame rails. These can dent the frame rails over time and even punch right through the vehicle’s frame under hard hits. With this kit, the provided frame plates spread impact loads evenly over your frame rails. The massive CNC cut gussets bridge the angle between the mounting legs and mounting plates (the highest stress areas in the entire slider) and create super stiff sliders that will not bend or flex excessively under the most extreme conditions! As a nice finishing touch, the ends of the square main rails are tapered at a 45 degree angle to ensure that they will not become battering rams if faced with a rock or stump.

These sliders come in pieces that are pre-bent and pre-cut. Simply line them up as per the provided assembly directions and diagrams, weld them together, and install them on your truck.  To make it even easier, the kits ship with clear and detailed step by step directions that are accompanied by professional CAD diagrams. The 6 (3 per side) mounting legs ship over-length so the sliders can be positioned at your preferred angle and distance from the vehicle. Angle them up tight to the rocker panels for maximum ground clearance or set them level to provide a convenient step to access your roof rack. The pictured sliders are set at a 10 degree angle to provide a happy medium.

• DIY Weld-together rock slider kit that arrives in CNC-laser cut and bent pieces that you then weld together – everything you need for assembly and installation included

•NO Drilling, cutting or welding of the actual vehicle required – these sliders can be removed from your 90 Series Land Cruiser Prado without a trace that they were ever installed.

• Detailed instructions and diagrams – the step by step directions and professionally made diagrams make these a perfect first welding project

• CNC-cut step plates look great, protect your rocker panels from rock debris spray and provide a convenient step to access to the cabin, roof rack and pickup bed

•65″ Length (4 door) provides full wheel well to wheel well protection

• 1.5×1.5″ 1/4″ wall (40×40 x 6mm ) and 2×2″ 3/16″ wall (50×50 x 5mm) square tubing inner rails and mounting legs provide excellent foundational support compared to lesser round tube sliders

• Massive 3/8″ (10mm) thick frame mounting plates and gussets distribute forces evenly into your vehicle frame to prevent damage

Rock slider assembly

As for welding, with everything designed using CAD software and then CNC laser-cut to size, the pieces fit together perfectly and this makes for a very simple assembly process. All kits come with detailed instructions with plenty of clearly labelled diagrams that are made using the best CAD software. This rock slider kit is well within the ability of a novice welder and many customers have purchased it as their very first welding project with great results! This is made possible by the clean parts fit-ups and thick material. These are two factors that make welding significantly easier. Welding is one of those skills that is easier to learn than you may think and once you can do it, you’ll wonder how you ever got by without it. Alternatively, many individuals buy the kits and then have a local welder assemble it for them. Even in this case, it typically ends up being less expensive than buying a pre-fabricated rock slider set – especially after considering the lower shipping costs of our kits vs. fully assembled rock sliders.
