2004-2015 Nissan Titan Low Profile Rear Bumper Kit

From: CAD$745.02

This is a low profile DIY weld-together rear bumper kit for the 1st generation (2004-2015) Nissan Titan. This bumper provides substantially increased ground clearance and rear end protection over the stock bumper. This has been achieved through the use of 3/16" thick plate steel (optional 1/4" aluminum available) and a sleek profile that sits tighter to the tailgate than the stock bumper. To top it off, this bumper comes with built-in mounts for the stock license plate lights and reverse sensors. Simply remove them from your stock bumper and pop them into the CNC cut holes in this bumper. No splicing or extending of wires required.  Additionally, it requires no modifcation to the frame or bedsides of the truck and uses all factory mounting points. The sloping rear profile and recessed hitch receiver further increase clearance and provide a smooth surface to slide over obstacles, significantly improving the offroad capability of your Titan!

Description

The profile of this bumper has been designed with maximum ground clearance and departure angles put first. The bumper sits as high and tight to the rear frame crossmember of the 1st generation 2004-2015 Nissan Titan as possible, while the angled side wing faces will smoothly slide over obstacles and ensure you do not get hung up on the trail. The side wings of this bumper provide heavy duty plate protection that wraps underneath the vehicle. These side wings will take a serious hit without flexing or deflecting into the vehicle body. The hitch receiver in this bumper is recessed into the bumper and angled at a 45 degree angle so it will smoothly slide over obstacles and ensure you do not get hung up on the trail. These features make a very noticeable difference during deep ditch crossing and steep obstacle climbs where other aftermarket bumpers with bulky rear profiles and protruding hitch receivers will hang up and impede progress on the trail. Simply put, this bumper allows you to forget about departure angle and substantially improves the offroad capability of your Titan!

We finished this bumper off with optional single and dual swing out carriers, two integrated light buckets for surface mount LED pod lights (custom cut outs available by request), and heavy duty 9/16″ recovery points that are placed directly in line with the Nissan Titan frame to eliminate any leveraging effects. These recovery points are formed out of laser cut steel plates that pass through the bumper shell and tie directly into the bumper’s main mounting points on the Nissan Titan frame. The recovery points then get welded to the in and outside of the bumper shell. These factors all combine to form recovery points that minimize stress on your Nissan Titan frame and provide reliable recoveries of heavily loaded vehicles in the worst of offroad situations. What could make this bumper even better? The low profile design has resulted in very reasonable weights of 90lbs for the steel bumper and 44lbs for the aluminum version. Considering that this bumper replaces your factory bumper, hitch receiver and associated components, the resulting weight increase to your Nissan Titan is surprisingly minimal. This reduces added stress on your vehicle, maintains precious payload capacity, and allows you to keep your factory suspension if desired.

Don’t want to lose your factory parking sensor system? No problem. This bumper kit comes with CNC-cut ports for each of the 4 factory parking sensors as well as internal routing ports for the factory wiring harness to pass through without any modification or extensions required. Simply pop the sensors into this replacement bumper, route the factory harness through the internal ports, and plug it back into the vehicle. The factory wiring harness is easily removed from the stock bumper and transferred to the Coastal Offroad bumper. When removing the Coastal Offroad bumper from the vehicle, all wiring is then conveniently disconnected all at once via the factory plug.

The swing out tire carrier comes in either a single or dual sided configuration and is built to accept a tire up to 37″ in diameter! Both carriers include mounting brackets for a hilift jack and other recovery items. The dual swing out includes the hilift mount as well as a lockable jerry can holder designed to fit two 20L NATO style jerry cans. These carriers feature heavy duty chromoly heim joint hinges, 2000lb toggle latches, T-handle spring pins, and a replaceable UHMW catch pad that provides secure, rattle free operation. The heim joints in conjunction with the toggle latch provide tons of adjustability, allowing for easy assembly and guaranteed alignment of the carrier latch. The single swing out add-on weighs 34lbs and the dual swing out add-on with gas can holder weighs 77lbs.

Bumper assembly

As for welding, with everything designed using CAD software and then CNC laser-cut to size, the pieces fit together perfectly and this makes for a very simple assembly process. All kits come with detailed instructions with plenty of clearly labelled diagrams that are made using cutting-edge CAD software. This bumper kit is well within the ability of a novice welder and many customers have purchased it as their very first welding project with great results! This is made possible by the clean parts fit-ups and thick material. These are two factors that make welding significantly easier. Welding is one of those skills that is easier to learn than you may think and once you can do it, you’ll wonder how you ever got by without it. Alternatively, many individuals buy the kits and then have a local welder assemble it for them. Even in this case, it typically ends up being less expensive than buying a pre-fabricated bumper – especially after considering the lower shipping costs of our kits vs. fully assembled bumpers.
