When we set out to design this bumper, we wanted to create something that packed as much functionality as possible while still looking great and complementing the lines of the F150’s bed. The high clearance design saves weight, looks great, and will take your Ford F150’s offroad performance to new levels. The aggressively shaped corners and included recessed hitch receiver further increase ground clearance and provide a smooth surface to slide over obstacles. These features make a very noticeable difference during deep ditch crossing and steep obstacle climbs where other aftermarket bumpers with bulky rear profiles will hang up and impede progress on the trail. Simply put, this bumper allows you to forget about departure angle and substantially improves the offroad capability of your Ford F150.
The main section of this bumper is formed from a single piece of 3/16″ wall rectangular tubing that is cut on a state of the art CNC-tube cutter. Unlike a typical laser cutting table that only cuts flat sheets of steel, this CNC machine can make precise cuts in all sides of a piece of square, rectangular or round tubing. What this means is that you will receive the center section of this bumper pre-cut with holes and slots for the hitch receiver, parking sensors, recovery points, and all surrounding plates that make up the bumper. This makes for foolproof fitment of each part as they will only fit together in one possible way. This greatly reduces the amount of welding and grinding time required by you and makes for a cleaner finished product. If you are paying to have the bumper assembled by a welding shop, this significantly lowers the cost! We are so excited about this new technology and the possibilities that it has opened up for our DIY bumper kits!
To maintain the full towing capacity of the vehicle, we designed this bumper to be fully compatible with the factory hitch receiver. Alternatively, if you prefer to ditch the factory hitch receiver, this bumper comes standard with an integrated hitch receiver that provides even more ground clearance gains. This hitch receiver is incredibly strong and well integrated into the bumper, but just keep in mind that due to the DIY welding aspect of this bumper, we can only recommend it be used for hitch mounted accessories such as bike racks; Or, as a recovery point while offroad.
Unlike many aftermarket bumpers that are more or less empty shells with minimal reinforcement, this bumper contains extensive internal ribbing and massive CNC-cut and bent mounting brackets that bolt to your F150’s frame using the same 6 bolt holes as the factory hitch receiver. With this bumper, you’ll be able to tackle challenging trails with a new level of confidence knowing that the rear end of your F150 is now nearly invincible!
The low-profile design of this bumper keeps the weight extremely reasonable at 83lbs while maintaining excellent strength. This is especially noteworthy when you consider the fact that the factory hitch receiver and rear bumper get removed before installing the Coastal Offroad bumper. We went ahead and weighed all of the factory bumper and hitch receiver parts that we removed and found that they weigh a total of 56lbs! This means that you the total weight increase to your vehicle is only 27lbs – negligible at best. This minimizes added stress on your vehicle, maintains precious payload capacity, and allows you to keep your factory suspension if desired.
We finished this bumper off with a license plate mount, factory parking sensor holes, spare tire access hole, and heavy duty 9/16″ recovery points that are placed directly in line with the vehicle frame to eliminate any leveraging effects. These recovery points are formed by laser cut steel plates that pass through the bumper shell and bolt directly to the F150’s frame as part of the bumper’s main mounting brackets. The recovery points then get welded to the in and outside of the bumper shell. These factors all combine to form recovery points that minimize stress on your F150’s frame and provide reliable recoveries of heavily loaded vehicles in the worst of offroad situations.
Don’t want to lose your factory parking sensor system? No problem. This bumper kit comes standard with CNC-cut ports for each of the 4 factory parking sensors as well as internal routing ports for the factory wiring harness to pass through without any modification or extensions required. Simply pop the sensors into this replacement bumper, route the factory harness through the internal ports, and plug it back into the vehicle. The factory wiring harness is easily removed from the stock bumper and transferred to the Coastal Offroad bumper. This allow you to wire in our LED driving lights and your factory parking sensors right into the Coastal Offroad bumper using the factory wiring harness. When removing the Coastal Offroad bumper from the vehicle, all wiring is then conveniently disconnected all at once via the factory plugs located behind the vehicle grill.
The optional swing out tire carrier comes in either a single or dual sided configuration and is built to accept a tire up to 40″ in diameter! Both carriers include mounting brackets for a hilift jack and other recovery items. The dual swing out includes the hilift mount as well as a lockable jerry can holder designed to fit two 20L NATO style jerry cans. These carriers feature heavy duty chromoly heim joint hinges, 2000lb toggle latches, T-handle spring pins, and a replaceable UHMW catch pad that provides secure, rattle free operation. The heim joints in conjunction with the toggle latch provide tons of adjustability, allowing for easy assembly and guaranteed alignment of the carrier latch. The single swing out add-on weighs 34lbs and the dual swing out add-on with gas can holder weighs 77lbs.

•Hybrid design uses a single piece of slotted and tabbed rectangular tubing for the center span. The production of this piece is only possible on our 5-axis CNC tube cutter. This piece greatly reduces amount of welding and grinding required by you and makes for a cleaner and stronger finished product without any additional weight!
