The profile of this bumper has been designed with maximum ground clearance and approach angles put first. The bumper sits as high and tight to the front of the 10th generation (2009-2014) Ford F150 as possible, while the angled lower faces will smoothly slide over obstacles and ensure you do not get hung up on the trail. The side wings of this bumper wrap around to the front wheel wells and tie directly into the main frame mounting plates for true offroad protection. These side wings will take a serious hit without flexing or deflecting into the vehicle body. We know that most Ford F150 owners want to run oversized tires and more aggressive wheel offsets. This can create interference issues with the stock front bumper. We have thought ahead and specifically designed these bumper side wings to easily clear 37″ tires. This bumper uses a total of 10 factory mounting points to solidly mount it to the frame. This distributes impact and winching forces evenly across your frame and makes for the stiffest mounting interface of any bumper on the market.
The main section of this bumper is also CNC-bent out of a single piece of 3/16″ P&O Steel. This greatly reduces the amount of welding and grinding required by you and makes for a cleaner finished product. If you are paying to have the bumper assembled by a welding shop, this significantly lowers the cost.
In addition to the winch mount that accepts all standard 8000 – 12,000lb winches, this bumper comes with 2 locations to mount 3×3″ surface mount LED pod lights as well as a center cut out sized to fit all 30″ single row light bars. All of these lighting mounts come with slotted mounting tabs that give a ton of adjustability to fit a wide range of different lights. The heavy duty 9/16″ thick recovery points are placed directly in line with the Ford F150 frame to eliminate any leveraging effects. These recovery points are formed by laser cut steel plates that pass through the bumper shell and tie directly into the Ford F150 frame as part of the bumper’s main mounting brackets. The recovery points then get welded to the in and outside of the bumper shell. These factors all combine to form recovery points that minimize stress on your Ford F150’s frame and provide reliable recoveries of heavily loaded vehicles in the worst of offroad situations. The low profile design has resulted in very reasonable weights of 93lbs for the steel bumper and 46lbs for the aluminum version. Considering that this bumper replaces your factory bumper and associated components, the resulting weight increase to your Ford F150 is surprisingly minimal. We went ahead and weighed all of the factory bumper and recovery point parts that we removed and found that they weigh a total of 64lbs! This means that our steel bumper only adds 29lbs to your F150 and our aluminum bumper actually cuts 18lbs! This reduces stress on your vehicle, maintains precious payload capacity, and allows you to keep your factory suspension without going to stiffer springs.
Don’t want to lose your factory parking sensor system? No problem. This bumper kit can be ordered with CNC-cut ports for each of the 4 factory parking sensors as well as internal routing ports for the factory wiring harness to pass through without any modification or extensions required (Please email us or put a comment in your order notes section to receive this option). Simply pop the sensors into this replacement bumper, route the factory harness through the internal ports, and plug it back into the vehicle. The factory wiring harness is easily removed from the stock bumper and transferred to the Coastal Offroad bumper. This allow you to wire in our LED driving lights and your factory parking sensors right into the Coastal Offroad bumper using the factory wiring harness. When removing the Coastal Offroad bumper from the vehicle, all wiring is then conveniently disconnected all at once via the factory plugs located behind the vehicle grill.
